We propose that hazardous chemicals are phased out as soon as possible, and that chemicals, for which there are no available data on hazardous properties, must be assessed within a limited time period. We follow the implementation of the REACH-reform, including the list of substances of very high concern and the demand of substitution of such substances. We propose the use of faster classification methods like group classification and QSAR (computer based assessment of chemicals based on structure activity relations to already assessed chemicals). Using these you can speed up the process of assessing the thousands of unassessed substances and identifying hazardous chemicals.
